When Franklin County Schools envisioned a way to make preschool more accessible, they knew they needed to meet families where they were, both physically and emotionally. With support from a local grant, the district turned a big idea into a bright, rolling reality: a mobile preschool bus that offers screenings, resources, and a joyful first experience with school.
Alchemy collaborated with the district to design the bus wrap and interior graphics. Together, we transformed a simple vehicle into a visual story of curiosity, community, and care.
the challenge
Early childhood enrollment can feel daunting for families, especially when transportation or awareness create barriers. Franklin County’s preschool director saw a need to make the process easier, more visible, and more welcoming.

Our team created a bus wrap that used bright colors, friendly characters, and clear messaging to invite families in. Every design choice, from color palette to typography, was intentional and blended playfulness with trust.

Inside the bus, Alchemy designed panels and visuals that created a welcoming, child-centered space. Interactive zones encouraged curiosity, while signage helped families navigate resources with ease.

The final step ensured the bus told a consistent story that matched Franklin County’s larger communication goals. We designed visuals that connected directly to their preschool brand and outreach materials, creating cohesion across every touchpoint.

The Franklin County Preschool Bus now travels to neighborhoods, parks, and events across the county. It provides screenings, story times, and smiles. Families who might never have engaged with preschool now have a friendly, accessible entry point.
For the district, the bus became more than transportation. It is a moving classroom, a mobile billboard, and a trusted bridge between home and school.
